Here is the narrative for this latest do it yourself video –
Today I will show you how easy it is to glitter letters cut out of styrofoam. We use these attractive letters to highlight celebrant’s names for bar mitzvah and bat mitzvah parties and celebrations. They can also be used for wedding rehearsals and receptions as well as retirement and birthday parties, corporate events, sports banquets, etc.
First make a pattern out of card stock for the appropriate letter height. Make sure to cut a slit in the pattern if there is interior material to be removed. Pin the pattern to a piece of styrofoam and use a hot wire cutter to cut the pattern. Trim the edges with a piece of Styrofoam. Use the Styrofoam like you would use a nail file. I generally paint the letter in the same color as the glitter before glittering and allow to dry.
Spread a thin layer of glue over one side of the letter and generously sprinkle glitter before the glue dries. Shake off the excess and let dry. Repeat on the other side. I do not glitter the edges when I have to send them to customers but you may do so for your party or event.
And voila! We use these letters on name centerpieces, sign in boards, candle lightings, etc.
