We spent almost the entire hour answering questions from participants.

Janice is searching for a new laptop and is interested in specifications and whether it’s worth it to have Microsoft Office 365 included. We talked about Google Docs and LibreOffice as alternative productivity suites.

E.G. asked some questions about a Chromebook slowing down that was issued to and used by a student. Suggestions were made about clearing cache, checking open tabs and apps, as well as bandwidth, etc.

Anne asked about modifying a PDF she has to edit and return. LibreOffice and Google Docs were suggested. I did find an online program (and there are many) at https://smallpdf.com/ but have not tried it since I have both Photoshop Elements and LibreOffice for this task.

Eleanor is shopping for a new unlocked smartphone. Judy shared her spreadsheet comparing new models she is looking at at a lower price. (It will be added to Google Drive once she makes it pretty!)

Marianne asked about updating computers. Joe was interested in a new tablet. Janice asked about buying electronics on Amazon and QVC. Malcolm added that the current version of Android is 13.

Upon E.G.’s request we did watch a double session of Judy’s WACI humor clips.

I announced for Tori (and Alberta in absentia) that a pdf was added to Google Drive for making labels in LibreOffice. I also added information on formatting the labels and adding graphic images.

E.G. requested reviewing Duck Duck Go for Linda. She might have tried to download the browser instead of adding DuckDuckGo as an extension (or application) on the Chrome browser.
