A Perfect Day In The Life Of A Day of Event Party Consultant
Life is a beautiful thing when things run perfectly for a Day of Event Cooordinator!
To give you an example. I am going to a party at a beautiful resort just a few miles commute from my office in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. The weather on this party day could not be more perfect. The sky is blue, the sun is shining and temperatures are moderate.
Working with the hosts of the party could not have been a better experience as a Day of Event Consultant and overseer. They cheerfully answered all the questions I asked. I received all the information I need to coordinate this event from the hosts in a timely manner.
I head off to the day of event party with the floor plan and the time line of the day’s activities in hand. Of course I have my clipboard and other tools of the trade.
The traffic is very light and I arrive ahead of schedule. The room where the party is going to be held and is already set up elequently. The centerpiece people have been there and the flowers are already in place on the tables. The candy and nuts are resting in their respective dishes on the guest tables. Both water and wine glasses are waiting to be filled.
The place cards are properly alphabetized. They are arranged in order on a table near the room entrance ready for the guests to arrive. Each washroom has personalized guest towels along with a basket of toiletries in case any guests are in need.
The tables have the correct number of chairs and place settings at each table and the table cloths are obviously freshly pressed and in perfect condition with no leftover stains or tears in the fabric.
When it is time for the guests to arrive they all arrive in an orderly manner and find their place cards with no problem. Everyone that is supposed to be at the party is there and there is a seat and a place setting for everyone. The food is marvelous and delivered promptly.
The photographer was at least an hour early before the party began. He is busy taking all the requested photographs and everyone is happy to have their pictures taken.
The DJ, who is also the MC for the evening, is wowing the crowd and the children are on their best behavior. Everyone is on the dance floor and having a wonderful time dancing the night away.
When it is time for the sweet table the guests very orderly walk up to the table and very politely take only the food that they can consume on their plate. All the guests waited very patiently while the photographer takes pictures of the sweet table.
Then I opened my eyes and realized it was only a dream. But oh what a dream it was….or was it just a dream????
