What A Day Of Wedding Or Other Event Consultant Does
You are considering whether you need a Day Of Event Consultant to help with your Wedding, Bar or Bat Mitzvah or other special event celebration. It will be a wise decision if you do.
Coordinators help you organize and then help carry out all your wishes for the day of your party. You won’t have to get involved in the minor details at your celebration. Thus you can relax and fully enjoy your guests and the occasion.
A Day of Event Consultant Is A Very Personalized Service.
Although I meet with the party host of the party several times, today I will focus on only our first meeting. Usually at the initial meeting we initially determine the approximate number of guests expected.
We also discuss whether the host has determined the room set up including an approximate number of tables and linens. Are adult tables to be separated from children tables? Were the linen colors decided upon?
I might offer also some money saving tips. One is it is more economical to get colored napkins than to get colored tablecloths. Even a table overlay adds color without incurring the cost of a full tablecloth. Confetti can be sprinkled on the table to bring in color without adding a significant cost if the venue allows it.
Decisions such as a plated meal or a buffet will be discussed. Meat, fish or special request entrees and other details about the meal are also reviewed. Final decisions such as the detailed menu and sweet table items are left for a later discussion at the venue.
I discuss any additional concerns the host might have at the initial meeting as well.
Most hosts are concerned that the music will not be too loud. I would make a note of this. At the event I would then make sure that the DJ has not cranked up the volume for the party. Nothing is worse than not being able to talk to the person sitting next to you because the music is too loud.
Additional Event Considerations I Suggest
Also at the first meeting I give suggestions to the host that they might not think of to ask the venue. Will:
- the wine for the toast be served or the bottle left on the table?
- there be refills of wine?
- the host be allowed to take their leftover food home?
- the host or guests be allowed to take any leftover sweets home?
- the sweet table be packed up at the end of the event?
Additional details of the event will fall into place at our next meeting.
