How Long Can Flexible Plastic Tubes For Centerpieces Be Cut?
We are often asked what is the appropriate length for Flexible Plastic Tubes in a centerpiece. Tubes are available in two widths: 1-2/3” wide and 1-1/4” and can be custom cut to any length you would like. Although height is strictly a personal opinion we like to use 18″ tubes for most of our centerpieces. The basic centerpiece kit shown to the right shows centerpieces with 18″ tubes. The tall balloon centerpiece shown below right is shown with a 24″ tube. If a shorter tube is used for the Tall Balloon Centerpiece, the amount of tube visible between the two rows of balloons is diminished considerably. The tallest we would go for any tube would be 36″. When shipping is involved oversize packages are much more costly to ship so it is best to keep the length under 36″. Centerpieces that are too tall lose perspective and proportionality.
Flexible Plastic Tubes can be used to raise a one level DIY centerpiece to a two level or it can be used to display balloons as in the Tall Balloon Centerpiece. Whatever you decide to use the tube for, the length of the tube can be custom cut. The tubes can be filled with shred for a very festive look. Small battery or fiber optic lights cans be put into the tubes for a stunning nightclub effect. Small candy or even marbles can be put into the tubes for a further way to carry out a theme.
Both the 1-2/3″ and the 1-1/4″ Flexible Plastic Tubes are very sturdy and can support quite a lot of weight. Items that are heavy on top of the Flexible Plastic Tubes might need to have an additional tube to make sure the centerpiece is not too top heavy. Also, having two tubes makes sure that the centerpiece is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The centerpiece to the above left shows the Tall Sports Jersey Centerpiece with two tubes. This is an example of using two tubes to support a rather large theme piece. It is shown with silver shred in the tubes.
